Pimpalgaon Joga Dam is a dam located near Malshej Ghat in Maharashtra, 15 km from Malshej Ghat bus stand. It is one of the scenic dams near Pune and one of the must-visit places in Malshej Ghat.

The Pimpalgaon Joga Dam was constructed in 1999 on the charming Pushpavati River, a tributary of the Kukdi River. The height of the dam is 94 feet and the length is 5 km. The total storage capacity is 235,520.00 km3. The dam is located in the Ghod valley and is a part of the Kukdi project, which also includes Yedgaon Dam, Manikdoh Dam, Dimbhe Dam and Vadaj Dam. Due to the construction of the dam, a large reservoir of water has been created which is filled to the brim during monsoons. It is the main source of water for nearby towns and villages.

Spread over a wide expanse of backwaters, the 5 km long Pimpalgaon Joga Dam is one of the main attractions of the Malshej Ghats. The scenic backdrop of rolling hills adds to the beauty of the dam. Also, the dam is considered a paradise for bird watchers as they can spot beautiful native and migratory birds including purple moorhen, pitta, alpine swift, whistling thrush, green pigeon, quail and pied crested cuckoo. Apart from this, many migratory birds like flamingos can also be seen here during the winter season.

Boating and camping are popular lakeside activities during monsoons and winters when there is enough water in the reservoir.


पिंपलगांव जोगा बांध महाराष्ट्र में मालशेज घाट के पास स्थित एक बांध है, जो मालशेज घाट बस स्टैंड से 15 किमी दूर है। यह पुणे के पास के दर्शनीय बांधों में से एक है और मालशेज घाट के दर्शनीय स्थलों में से एक है।

पिंपलगांव जोगा बांध का निर्माण 1999 में आकर्षक पुष्पावती नदी पर किया गया था, जो कुकड़ी नदी की एक सहायक नदी है। बांध की ऊंचाई 94 फीट और लंबाई 5 किमी है। कुल भंडारण क्षमता 235,520.00 km3 है। बांध घोड़ घाटी में स्थित है और कुकड़ी परियोजना का एक हिस्सा है, जिसमें येदगांव बांध, मानिकदोह बांध, डिंभ बांध और वदाज बांध भी शामिल हैं। बांध के निर्माण के कारण, पानी का एक बड़ा जलाशय बनाया गया है जो मानसून के दौरान पूरी तरह से भर जाता है। यह आसपास के कस्बों और गांवों के लिए पानी का मुख्य स्रोत है।

बैकवाटर के विस्तृत विस्तार में फैला, 5 किमी लंबा पिंपलगांव जोगा बांध मालशेज घाट के मुख्य आकर्षणों में से एक है। लुढ़कती पहाड़ियों की सुंदर पृष्ठभूमि बांध की सुंदरता में चार चांद लगा देती है। इसके अलावा, बांध को पक्षी देखने वालों के लिए एक स्वर्ग माना जाता है क्योंकि वे सुंदर देशी और प्रवासी पक्षियों को देख सकते हैं जिनमें बैंगनी मूरहेन, पित्त, अल्पाइन स्विफ्ट, व्हिसलिंग थ्रश, हरा कबूतर, बटेर और चितकबरा कोयल शामिल हैं। इसके अलावा यहां सर्दियों के मौसम में राजहंस जैसे कई प्रवासी पक्षी भी देखे जा सकते हैं।

नौका विहार और शिविर मानसून और सर्दियों के दौरान झील के किनारे की लोकप्रिय गतिविधियाँ हैं जब जलाशय में पर्याप्त पानी होता है।
